Good point. But I saw ruger had a 454 with a 2 in barrel. Bet that's a pleasure to shoot.

Yup, if the bear don't kill me the recoil will.

I would take my chances with a 44mag.

How are the pistol grip shotguns to shoot. That would be something you could sling over your shoulder and not be that heavy.

I've got one with a 4" barrel. There are people who swear it's very effective out to 200 yds. You can load that bad boy up with a 500 gr. as well.

I reckon I can carry a speed loader of 140 grain for small varmints.
