Josh Smith- For a max deal? No thank you
Tyreke Evans- At a reasonable price, could be a nice Gordon replacement. Doubt the Kings let him get away but perhaps a trade this summer?
Brandon Jennings- For 8 figures? No thank you
Al Jefferson- really a PF and plays no defense
Paul Millsap- hard worker. has played the 3 and is developing a 3pt shot but not really a fit
Nikola Pekovic- Would be a nice get- beast on the offensive glass- but I doubt Minnesota lets him get away

If any of these guys are in your big 3, you don't have a big 3.

IMO they will make reasonable signings this summer for depth and look to add a core piece via trade with a team at or near the tax line.

Just because they have cap space for a max player doesn't mean they have to spend all the money in one spot

Exactly. Overspending is very, very dangerous for a small market team.

As usual, you're on the money. Go for depth until the real deal comes along.

You know, we've talked about the Spurs' model and how they were very fortunate that two lower draft picks turned out to be stars. But another reason they've always been great is the fact that they always are so deep on the bench with guys that have a particular skill set. That seems to be especially true this year.
