What motor / lower unit do you have? Mercury had a bad batch of prop shafts on the standard gearcase for the optimax & pro xs last year. That's why I have a torque master lower unit. The prop shaft is bigger & handles much more torque than the standard verado gearcase.

quote: Im anxious to see what the Pro max does. Jsmoke, im not familiar with it, so this might be a dumb question, but if its a thicker blade, what makes you think it will out preform the 1xs? I could see something close to preformance and lasting longer with your problems your having witht the cup, but why more speed?
The pro max is supposed to match the speed of the xs props & have the durability of the thicker blades of the Pro E.T.. I know a few guys who ran these props (pro max) during testing & they all noticed a slight increase in speed.
I also expect to pick up a little speed with the new Gen-2 torque master lower unit that I have on my new motor.

no, I have been stuck offshore for the past 2 weeks. Hoping to get home before conservation season closes though. If not, we will have to get together & do some fishing.
