How come elite pg, better than CP3, Kyrie has a team with a worse record than mediocre Vasquez in a worse conference?

Because you can say that about any position that's why.

but this thread was about PG...and the OP was basically saying that you need an elite PG to win a championship. and we were pointing out that in fact you don't.

past 10 points guards on championship teams

Chalmers, Kidd, Billups, Derrick Fisher, Tony Parker, Rondo. To say you need an elite PG is ludicrous. The is 3rd in the NBA averaging 9.4 assists per game. You don't need a point guard to drop 20 points a game. You need a guy that can distribute the ball to the other guys.

LeBron & Kobe was the PG's for the Heat & Lakers. With that said of the last 10 Ship winners you have 5 HOF & a finals MVP.

Irving has a ways to go to catch CP3. He will never be a better Pg than Paul if he's shooting 18 times a game.

Paul does EVERYTHING. Look at his win shares. Look at his PER. Every season has been better than Irving. shite, he had 30 PER season and 3 more over 25. He's led the lead in assists and steals multiple times.

There are guys like CP and Nash. Guys who make their teammates better and can score when need be. They are gamers who also get it done in the playoffs.

Then there are guys like Irving, Westbrook, Rose, Lilliard, jennings who are me first scorers who look to pass only when they have to.

When one of those guys can score 23 a game and lead the league in assists and steals all while shooting 50%, let me know.

Yes, and it didn't rewrite your four-letter word. Was it the comma? Is it broken?

The obsession with direct, raw scoring numbers blinds people to the game, and rightly so. That you get points is basic. How you get points is advanced. The leap is not always made.

Even being top 50% at everything is noteworthy. To be Chris Paul . . . that is very noteworthy.

Yes, I'll never understand it. Chris Paul could go down as the best PG ever if he stays healthy and logs another 10 years

Yeah . . . doesn't the board rewrite those?

I'm just not typing it out so I don't get in trouble . . . I'm a magnet for that kind of activity . . . I am quite liberal with my use of those terms in other circumstances.

You should stick to numbers. Comedy isn't your thing.

Man, tonight's loss was a bummer. On national television taboot.

You should stick to the bottom of a boot. Who was making a joke?

At least I'm an actual person, not some coward who knows his true personality would be ever more disliked than his fake ones he doesn't have the stones to even imitate without the protection of anonymity. How pathetic. Maybe you'll die of cancer or something less miserable than your real life. Maybe not though. Fingers crossed.

This thread was to say Vasquez isn't gonna take us to where we wanna go. Many people said Vasquez was the PG to take us to where we wanted to go. I was just pointing out that they are wrong.

People said Vasquez could be a starting PG on a championship team. Today's Vasquez would have probably started on 3 of the last 4 championship teams (Miami last year, and LAL 2x). No one ever said that he would carry us to the promised land. Replace Vasquez with CP3 on last year's team and they miss the playoffs. Replace him with CP3 on this year's team and we're fighting for the 8 seed with a chance to be a pesky out in the first round (assuming EG is healthy at that point), but still not a championship team.

PS:I really can't tell if you're trolling or not, so good job if you are.
