I should have said when healthy. But when healthy Ivory is our best running back IMO

Pierre Thomas is much better than Ivory

What would Ivory be worth in a trade? I'm talking about a draft pick. Which round? Anybody?

IMO 2 late round picks, maybe one in each in the next 2 drafts

Pierre Thomas is a really good all around back. Chris Ivory is one of the best pure runners in football, and a great blend of power and speed. Dude is a beast and will have a big time rushing season once he gets to another team that Thomas isn't really capable of having IMO.

On screen passes sure and probably better all around with pass protection and catching out of the back field but when just handed the ball I'll take Ivory

Agreed. The trouble with Ivory is that he is such a one trick pony. Great runner but everyone knows he's either gonna be carrying when he's in or else nothing.

And you can't believe with an offensive mind like Payton's they haven't wanted to get him involved in the passing game.

You said it yourself, it's not his fault they are so predictable with him. That's on the person calling plays. You can say the exact same thing about how they use Ingram. I have no problem with a guy being a one trick pony if he is as good as Ivory at that one trick. And even though teams know what's coming, they still can't stop him. The guy is as good at breaking out of hits in the backfield as anyone.

As far as a pure runner, yes. But even that doesn't matter if you spend more time in the training room than on the field.

I think Saints could get at least a 3rd round pick for Ivory

But is it the play caller's fault they have to be predictable with him. Could just be that he can't be relied on in the passing game, either catching or blocking.

Payton is arguably the most innovative passing game coach out there, yet Ivory has never been a part of it. Wonder why?

Be sarcastic then. It couldn't make any less sense.

This could all be true, but Ingram was a great receiver out of the backfield coming out of college, and they do the same thing with him that they do with Ivory. Everyone knew what was coming with Ingram in the game.

That is a point. I've often wondered why Ingram isn't used more in pass routes myself. There's obviously something going on we as fans don't see. After all, it's not like Payton is shy about throwing to the running back.
