He might as well. The far leftists who currently run the LA Dem Party want nothing to do with him right now after he carried the Legacy Lawsuit bill for LOGA. You'd swear he was worse in some of their eyes than Vitter the way some in the Dem circle trashed him.

I gues that Vitter being implicated in prostitution was fabricated? He probably never got involved with prostitutes and the entire investigation was a conspiracy.
I never said that. Not even close. You're really bad at reading comprehension if that's what you got out of it.
quote:

I do believe that when voters are given the choice between someone with the sketchy background that Vitter possesses versus the character that Edwards possesses that Edwards will pull more republicans than you might think.
Ask Charlie Melancon how that worked out. And then add 5 years to the political time line to see how potent the issue will be.
quote:

Also, you said Edwards lacked intelligence. Please provide your premise for that assertion.
I said he doesn't have Edwin Edwards' political brain or charisma. Anyone would be a fool to argue otherwise.

the money is gonna stay with vitter bc he'll protect their interests and the backwoods repubs are staying with vitter bc edwards is a democratic socialist monster
The amount of mindless stereotyping you do while accusing others of the same is pretty laughable.

The idea that the Louisiana Democrat base is some bastion of high, or even marginal, political and economic thinking is patently absurd.

where did i say anything like that?

my whole premise here is that the R's ignorant base is more voluminous than the D's ignorant base

i may ultimately be wrong, but i dont think it is an absurd proposition to make, especially post-katrina and with no obama on the ticket

I'd genuinely like to understand how you get there, though. The Louisiana Democrat base is black people, really old people, union blue collars and a healthy percentage of poor, trashy whites (not very active voters).

The Republican base is made up of the white middle class, white upper and upper middle classes, some rednecks (who aren't really active voters if you look at the data).

It's just hard to see where or how you'd come to the conclusion that the Democrat base in the state has less cretins. I know you keep referring to post-Katrina, but I really don't think the numbers are what you think they are. I've had to deal with the numbers a lot in my line of work.

2015 is going to be crowded.

Off the top of my head you have these Republicans at least exploring a run:

Vitter
Dardenne
Kennedy
Angelle
Strain

Then the Dems will beg Mitch to run and he will be almost assured to make the run-off.

If Mitch runs then I think you end up with a Mitch/Vitter run-off.

If Mitch doesn't run then I think you end up with a Vitter/Dardenne run-off and Dardenne wins.

McCain in 2008 won by slightly more than Bush in 2004 but at the same time Mary Landrieu won by 6 points against a moderate, very capable challenger.
