I've been around all those guys as well. No special operations unit wants to tangle with an elite combat battalion. By the same token, no 82nd rifle squad wants to defend a control tower against a SEAL team. Those units have different missions, like different tools in a toolbox - hammer for nail, screwdriver for screw.
The fact that they all use guns and kill people is where the similarities end.

Never saw a single instance where the "small" units would take on a battalion, that's a job for the intruders....
