Reminds me of the Sea Men episode.

Cartman got a dude to give him some...he only had to go in a back alley, close his eyes, and suck the Sea Men out of this hose.

My chances of contacting an STD are virtually non-existant as opposed to other segments of the population.

And why is that?

Please enlighten me how a gay man who ALWAYS uses protection and only sleeps with people who have been tested is ANY LESS HEALTHY than you? TIA

Genetically, being gay is no less healthy than being straight. Its all about how approach risks.

This is old news. No one who has read any credible sources about this has accepted the 10% number.

There is a very easy answer to this question. Studies repeatedly show that homosexuals have many more sexual partners than their average heterosexual counterparts. More partners, more risk of STD's. Its not complicated.

I agree. However it's obvious that particular groups don't approach risks with the same caution.

I'm happily married, but if I wasn't, my chances of contracting an STD from vaginal sex are considerably lower. Statistically speaking, a homosexual has much greater chance of finding a partner that is infected.

I agree with you about risks, I think it's unfortunate that the rate of STDs are so skewed.

Actually, there's nothing genetic at all about being gay. . . But that's a topic for another thread.

I'll have to disagree there - certainly there must be an inborn component of it. Everyone has certain urges. Gays and lesbians obviously have innate urges as I do not believe sexuality is fully learned behavior.

The questions are - how much control does one have over what urges one is born with? As long as it is 2 consenting adults, ultimately, who is harmed by the behavior?

I'm getting more and more libertarian (not "libertine" ) on the issue as I get older. Live and let live, as long as everybody behaves appropriately in public and around children. (And, honestly, that's not tied in any way to sexuality - I don't want a heterosexual couple all over each other around young children, either.)

There are dozens of studies that show both sides of the issue...

But either way, still doesn't do anything to prove that Gays are any less healthy than being straight.

In fact, I would bet that there are dozens of health issues that are higher percentages in straight people than gay people. But of course, y'all will always fall back on "Aids"

So that means 1,102,500 people in the U.S. are attracted to the same sex. How many people like both sexes?

So why is gay stuff such a huge topic in politics?

Also, sounds like a genetic or mental mutation to me. How is it not?
