You didn't know that? Some very small studies, decades ago, were "extrapolated" to expand out to "as much as" 10%. However, there was never any real data to support a real world number of greater than 2 to 5%. They took and ran with 10% because that made the GLBT community on roughly equal footing with black and hispanic populations.

That has been the ballpark that is usually projected. With all the pro gay rights hoopla in the media I've looked it up a few times. I think the largest projection I've ever seen is around 5 percent.

You can roll your eyes all you want, but the facts speak for themselves. I'm in no way anti-gay, I really don't care what they or anyone else does with their time. My chances of contacting an STD are virtually non-existant as opposed to other segments of the population.
