Redden could play wing, but there is no backup PG... Thorton could play it, but he would be better suited playing at 2 with a good PG... I'd go with Voogd, but I am partial. He is my favorite Tiger of all time.

I can't see him taking anyone's place on my list, but I will agree that he was key for us in 2006 when we got to the FF.

the LSU all-time starting 5 in basketball is almost pointless to debate. there are 4 guys who are complete no brainers.

Some people say he turned it over too much, but I think he was just before his time. Pretty much like a newer less ball-hog Pete Maravich... I hope people realize this is a joke

I'm assuming he is talking about Rudy. I can't think of anyone else that would knock him out at the 3 position though. Guy was an All American.

yeah he's the only one who's even debatable, but even he would be really really hard to argue not being there

Would John "Hot Plate" Williams make the list? Also, for some reason I find it hard to have a championship team without Ricky Blanton on the bench somewhere... At least make him an assistant coach.

any starting lineup without stanley robinson in the starting five is not legit.

I don't know if I like havng Macklin in the starting five with Petit. this is not a critique of Macklin - he certainly belongs on the team - but if you are actually building a team, you might want a better outside stroke and slashing from your 3. I suggest, in no particular order, Jerry "Ice" Reynolds, Don Redden, or the versatile John "Hot Plate" Williams.

Stanley Roberts, Vernel Singleton, maybe one of the Wilsons.

I like your suggestions, but I would keep Macklin on the starting 5 simply because the dude was such a hard worker. He was agressive and was able to create his own shot. Not to mention he was also a monster rebounder. I think he is LSU's all time leading rebounder.

when you have jackson and maravich in the backcourt, that becomes not as important out of your 3 imo

Very good point. Although on the other hand, with Macklin in the line-up with Shaq and Petit LSU would lead the world in rebounding

Yes all of this is conjecture and opinion, but his has already been debated before: "All Time" NCAA tournament Now getting back to you, LSU absolutely would match up with UCLA and UNC
