I don't believe they banned it entirely, they limited the amount of time the song can be played. Once the batter steps on the dirt the sound people must cut the music. When the players realize they can stall a little in the grass near home plate to hear their music play I think we will start to hear a little more of it.

I believe this is the new rule. They should at least let them get to the batters box.
