You're obviously a big Steeler fan there old timer. I dare say you'd have a hard time finding anyone who thinks TB is even a top 10 QB of all time

See, when Bradshaw played, there wasn't this freakin obsession with lists and legacies. Thanks to ESPN, EVERY damn player that has success has to be categorized. I'm sick of the " Is he elite, is he not" BS, along with "greatest of all time crap."
Bottom line, new timer, how many Super Bowls wins has Bradshaw Quarterbacked? Bet THIS is top ten.

So we should judge individual players on their team accomplishments? Ridiculous.

to belittle the qb ability of terry bradshaw is pure ignorance; he may be the best ever in the nfl; without question one of the best ever to play the game.

No. He was the QB on a great team. Nowhere near one of the best ever...He wouldn't be top 20.

Bradshaw 4-0 in the show twice against Staubach and Landry and the rest of the Cowboys Hall of Fame team. last QB to call his own plays. I think hes in the Top 10 of QB's id want under center in a big game.

name your Top 20. or just your top 10 and see if Bradsaw isnt in the chase. QB's are judged by Championships. Big Men in BBall are as well.

Nothing more needs to be said. He and Montana stand alone.

He might not be the purest quarterback ever but he's one of the two biggest winners. Highly underrated.

While Bradshaw was a good qb, I think its extremely fair to say that his wr's made him look alot better than he was.

I loved the Steelers of the 70's and can still name almost their entire starting line up by heart. It is my opinion that Bradshaw is nowhere near the athlete that Carl Malone is. That is almost a no brainer.

As for TB being a top 10 all-time NFL QB? No. He was an excellent NFL QB who just happened to play with the greatest collection of talent ever assembled on one NFL roster. For God Sake, the '74 class alone contained Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Jack Lambert, Mike Webster and Donny Shell. That was just one class. Bradshaw was excellent, no doubt. But there are many QB's who would have won 4 super bowls on that Steeler's Team.

Bradshaw had a big arm and talented WRs but he is thought of more like Aikman than an a top ten QB of all time. And Malone was a beast a physical freak so to say he is more athletic than Bradshaw isn't really a knock on TB at all. Malone and Stockton as well just happened to be up against the GOAT pretty much his entire career.

Umm, it's done all the time. Would Montana be considered one of the All Time Greats if Frisco hadn't won like they did? The QB is THE most important position on the field. If you don't have a good one, your chances of being a successful team are diminished. The Great ones win. Pretty sure that is why they play the game.

Why argue about who is the most talented or most athlletic. Both had very successful careers and did well with the talents God gave them.

Both are fine individuals, good representatives for Louisiana Tech, and for the State of Louisiana.

Yeah, really....
Nobody has defined "Athletic" here.
Would Malone look very "Athletic" standing in the pocket facing a pass rush while throwing a football? Probably about as "Athletic" as Bradshaw would look finishing a fast break.
Brah...

re: Karl Malone Jr

Every now and then, usually about every twenty minutes or less, a question or comment comes up that allows people to express an opinion as though it were a hard and fast "fact." Comparing a qb to a basketball player as the greatest athlete is hard to do in my mind. The games and, more importantly, the times were different. Big draft numbers, no free agency, probably steroid stuff, and dictatorial control over players and coaches influence these assessments.

I am content to say that both were, and are, great from the point of view of accomplishments and their love of the state. Bradshaw was surrounded by talent on offense, and their defense was no slouch either. Having said that it is obvious that anyone could have stepped in and gone to the super bowl. Really! If I had been the qb, you think we would be talking about me right now. Bradshaw got a bad rap as a country bumpkin who couldn't learn a playbook; therefore, he was another stupid LA idiot. I tend to look at Bradshaw as crazy like a fox and laughing all the way to the bank.

How about we compare them to Arthur Ashe, Muhammad Ali, Bob Petit, or Mel Ott. Comparisons make good barroom arguments that only prove we are talking about great athletes no matter when the period of time that they played.

re: Karl Malone Jr

Are u saying Montana didnt have any good wr's or any good receiving RB's.How about Marino?
Bradsaw played when u could clobber the QB u could pick him up and body slam him. U could treat them just like any other player and they were defenseless.
Since 1960 anyone would be hard pressed to find 10 QB's better than Bradshaw and 20 now thats insulting to the man.

If we were comparing Bradshaw to you, then yes, Bradshaw is the greatest QB ever to step on a football field; however, I raised the bar a little higher by comparing TB to other NFL quarterbacks and not posters on The Rant.
