This setup is very efficient too. Higher front end cost but huge reduction is ongoing costs. I've done this in two different properties now with great results.

Almost all brands offer two stage cooling now. Trane, Carrier, and Lennox are a few that come to mind. It is all a preference and basically has a variable speed drive on the fan to keep a small amount of airflow going over the coil to really drop the humidity level in the house. If you have the money to burn then by all means it is a good feature but I would not lose any sleep over not getting it. Find the most reputable company and go with that.
