Does anyone in here regularly tow a 22-24' bay boat? If so, what vehicle do you tow with, how far, and how does it perform?

I can't make up my mind with all the different options out there.

I have a '09 Nissan Titan. I can pull our 21' bay boat like it isnt even there. The 5.6 V8 combined with the wide wheel base, it's made to do that

(I want to say Titan has the widest wheel base in it's class)

I tow a 24' boat with a 3/4 ton gmc duramax. I go anywhere from Cocodrie to Venice. It performs great, plenty of power and stops very well. Gas mileage isn't really hurt much by pulling the boat.

Make sure to stay with a full size pick up or suv with a good size v8. I'm rolling a Ram crew cab with the hemi and it does just fine... Plenty of power.

Tundra, you've seen the commercials right? Brake system is better than the rest. It's not the moving, it's the getting it to stop moving.

i've reg towed my 22' with my 1/2 ton chev 4.8 ltr w/o any problems. it has the towing package so not sure if 1/2 ton w/o package would be a big difference. i do keep it to <= 65 mph.

I've pulled my cousins 24 ft sea fox with a ram v6 with no problems, other than retarded gas mileage.

18 ft boat (3500 lbs) with a 3/4 ton Chevy duramax. Sometime you forget the thing is back there.

Pull a 24' Pathfinder with my GMC 1 ton. Pull it with my brother's suburban as well. Both are plenty enough vehicle for the tow.

22' Blazer Bay- tow from Raceland to Bay St. Louis regularly. Have done it with 2004 Z-71 and now 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 with Hemi.

Jeep pulls it remarkably better than the full size pick up did.

I just took delivery of a 2012 ford F250 with the 6.7L diesel but have yet to tow with it but it will tow anything you can hook to it. As others have said i would stay with at least a 1/2 ton pickup as a 22-24ft bay boat will weigh in the neighborhood of 3500 LBS on the trailer loaded with gas, ice etc.

I pull my 22 ft. Century Cabin with a 2005 z71 Tahoe fairly well, a little jerky but nothing major. Hell I used to pull it with a single cab v6 Silverado back in the day, only 4 mile trip though.

24' Sea Fox w/ ttop with a 08 F-250. IMO, it doesn't matter the engine, its all in the rear end and towing ability. My buddy has a Dodge RAM and that new coil rear end makes his truck squat down with his 21' Blazer Bay. I prefer diesel due to gas mileage as well b/c I tow mine all over the place from the northshore.
