my dream offensive package

WR - OBJ, Boone and Landry
TE - Smith
RB - Blue
1st down
Three wide, Smith in tight, Mett in shotgun and Blue alongside
2nd down
Four wide, Landry and Smith in slot.
Mett in shotgun and Blue alongside
3rd down
Empty backfield with Mett in shotgun.
No huddle. Lineup when ball is ready for play. LSU doesn't sub so defefense can't. Three totally different looks. Defense has to play base personell for the most part.
TE - Smith
RB - Blue

Damn that is an awful way for this offense to play. We aren't Oregon, nor should we want to be.
We should line up and run a pro offense. Run counters, tosses, iso dives, and then play action. If Mett had hit on half of the deep play action passes this year we would have scored 100 more points. I think he will hit those this year. Don't get me wrong, we need more creativity on offense, but that doesn't mean abandoning the strong running offense we have, it just means helping the passing O more.

Dream offense - not running in to the tackles for no gain on 3 rd and short. Actually passing beyond the yard marker on 3rd and long. Passing on 1st down. Stop it with the conservative base offense and throw in some wrinkles. Teach Mett how to avoid to take a sack. Get some WRs who can catch the fricking ball. Learn how to throw a deep ball in stride. Jesus tap dancing Christ, I could go on and on.

This sounds absolutely terrible. I guess you want us to be like Oregon.
I would have thought that the hire of a new OC would make the fans happy. I guess it just gave them the renewed hope that we will be Oregon or just throw the ball 60 yards downfield every play and score 65 every game.
