18.5 ypc vs. Ole Miss

7.2 vs. Washington in '12

I was referring more to yac than ypc in the OP.

Blue had one big run vs Ole Miss/UGA and carried the ball the most in the florida game where we physically destroyed them. Blue is all hype right now.

New season, new competition for carries.
A lot will hinge on who's grasping protections, routes and non-carry stuff.

But yet we have no idea how good Blue could have been had he stayed healthy.

the moving parts should be symetrical....the fastest way to tip your hand is to "package" plays for certain individuals. to be most effective all three backs should be interchangeable no matter what the set. you asked.

get better...and less transparent.

The TD catch Ware made against Bama was redonkulus.

That was against Mississippi State. But yes it was

You aren't replacing Ware. Many tiger fans don't realize how valuable he was and how well he did what he did.

He did the Jacob Hester stuff (hard nose running) with the hands of a WR.

Just not as good. But I see your point.I don't think Ware was the same after his suspension last year.

I am anxious to see if T. Magee will be moving back to RB from wideout.

I say Magee. He may not have the power of Ware but he will be faster and more elusive.

I assume you are referring to the UF game in 2012 since we destroyed them in 2011. What the frick are you talking about. Blue got hurt in the third game of the season and didn't touch the ball the rest of the year.

for Blue did nothing to lose the starting spot.

Neither did Alex Smith. Sometimes it isn't about what you did to lose a spot. It is about what the guy behind you did to take your spot. I don't think it is automatic, but I think Hill will be the starter in 2012.

as big as he is you would think he would run people over left and right....from what ive seen of him he is the softest one of the three...now sometimes yes he does lower the shoulder and run over someone but i think hill and blue hit harder than him IMO

I can understand why you might think that, but, from what I saw, I think that started after he had that fumble game (can't remember which game). His playing time was reduced and every time he had the ball approaching traffic he would tense up and hug the ball (kind of awkwardly), obviously trying to make sure he didn't lose it. toward the end of the year, he was starting to look a bit more natural. If he can get back to his natural style AND learn to guard the ball a little better, Hilliard could give Hill a run for his money. Although Blue is probably faster than either (not sure about that, just going on the eye test)those two guys are prototypical fast, powerful and durable type backs that end up in the NFL for years, IMO.

But Blue was a BEAST before he got hurt. If the the OL was blocking like they were supposed to, he was basically unstoppable. He averaged 6.8 ypc to Hill's 5.3.
Keep in mind that Hill basically dominated some of the best defensive teams in the SEC(country).

Blue, on the other hand, dominated non-conference games. Im interested to see if Blue plays like he did at the beginning of last year. Time will only tell.

Still though, Hill will without a doubt be the starter with Blue backing him.

My fault. I'm stupid and misread and thought you said they destroyed us. Gotcha.

Not disagreeing with that at all.....

But Blue was a BEAST before he got hurt. If the the OL was blocking like they were supposed to, he was basically unstoppable. He averaged 6.8 ypc to Hill's 5.3.

Blue was on pace to be a 1,200 yard back.....

yeah there's no telling. i thought hilliard would be the man after the end of 2011.

but this is a great discussion to have b/c all are talented.

the real intrigue will be seeing them thrown to more. miles seemed overly worried with his o line last year and RB's stayed back in pass pro for a majority of pass snaps. even when released they were nothing more than safety valves.

looking forward to them as weapons and not stop gap o lineman.

Blue also made it look effortless running against UGA in the SECCG in '11.
