Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed the club is pushing UEFA for answers over referee Alberto Undiano Mallenco's performance in their 3-0 defeat to Juventus.
quote:
The referee didn't do his job and there has been a lot of talk since Tuesday night regarding it so we are looking for clarification on the referee's decisions during the game," he said. "We are going to compile a DVD and send it to them (UEFA) and wait and see what answers we do get."
quote:
If anything we had done our homework and we made sure the referee was aware of it and he was looking at it time and again and Juventus went unpunished. We needed a strong referee and we didn't have that.
what a fricking joke Lennon is could not even win the SPL until it was handed to him

Juve players physically jostled and grapled with Celtic players on corners, particular Stephan Lichsteiner with Garry Hooper and Scott Brown. Both Lichsteiner and Hooper received just yellow cards for grabbing each other prior to a corner in the first half. Hooper tried to box Buffon out of the play, while Lichsteiner pulled him away from Buffon. This
Scott Brown tried to get Lichsteiner sent off later in the second half by covertly stomping on his foot. Lichsteiner shoved Brown away and both proceeded to take embarrassingly bad dives.
Hard to tell from the annoying tag on the gif, but Brown is clearly intentionally standing on Lichsteiner's foot.
Celtic played their basic crossing game to no avail, and Juve tried to intimidate them on corner kicks. Both the tactics were juvenile but effective on both ends. Celtic don't have the players to match up with Juve, while Juventus realized Celtic's only advantage was on dead balls and crosses.
