I still want to know if Big Tobacco was behind the 1975 Tea Party stuff. And was it also behind Ron Paul's Tea Party stuff? What about every other instance of people protesting high taxes and out of control spending - all big tobacco?

The 2007 "moneybomb" fundraiser was a one-time "event" styled "TeaParty07"
It was not the same as the Tea Party political movement that began with CSE but did not really blow up until FreedomWorks and other Koch-affiliated groups starting pushing it hard in early 2009 after the inauguration of Obama.

Don't most political movements start as one time things that gain steam?
Just because FreedomWorks, an anti-tax, limited government group, globbed on to the Tea Party, an anti-tax, limited government, wagon doesn't mean that FW created the Tea Party.
I've said it numerous times but the use of the phrase "tea party" means absolutely nothing due to the significance that the Boston Tea Party has on the supporters of low taxation and limited government.

I guess the tax rally I attended in April '09 didn't really happen, and everyone there was being paid by the Koch brothers. I am disappointed by my lack of pay.

ok. that is what the "facts" you presented culminate into. Read your "study" then read the tea party reaction. This is mych ado about nothing. A strawman paid for by Obama via taxpayer dollars to discredit a political adversary.....and you fell for it.
One would think you would be more offended that a sitting President used taxpayer dollars to fund a propaganda piece to discredit a political adversary, than whether or not that political adversary is "grass roots" or not....but you aren't.

The April 15, 2009 rallies were organized by FreedomWorks and Americans For Prosperity, both of whom formerly comprised Citizens for a Sound Economy...the group that started the Tea Party as early as 2002.
These are facts.
