They are saying it will not alter the taste though.

I prefer Wild Turkey Rare Breed anyway, still hate to see this. Makers Mark is pretty damn good, or at least it was. I'll have to see what this does to the flavor.

I water it down anyway, IDGAF. I drink it with about 1/3 of water, so I'll adjust accordingly.

ETA: All bourbon is watered down from barrel strength anyway.

I will just buy a case of the old stuff. It should last a while.

That's too bad.

Guess it's hard to run a business with such a delay between production and availability. Guess they've grown faster than they thought.

It's still going to be above 80 proof so it shouldn't lose too much of its oomph.

Makers makes a damn fine Old Fashioned. Just gonna have to put an extra dash of bitters in there to get the alcohol % back to where it should be.

My boss and I were talking about that yesterday.

I'd like to figure out when the new makers is going to hit the market.

I bet They will make the 42% the norm but still have the 45% but charge more for it like it's a special type of bourbon or some shite.

So instead of making a quality product, they rather turn it to shite to keep up with demand?

WHY

little by little companies do this and over time you wonder what the hell happened

read an article about all of this yesterday and Maker's believes that consumers won't tell the difference at all.

I've not tried this but heard good things about it. I've looked for ti locally (north Alabama) but have yet to find it.

How does it compare to Rare Breed in your opinion?
