I take a piece of string, and sit quietly while I tie a hangman's noose, hold it up, swing it back and forth, then untie it and start tying another one... This has worked four times in three different states...

Show up. Claim not to reside in parish/county for past year. The end.

Judges can get pissy with BS excuses, but if you give some vague answer like your god doesn't allow you to judge other people, I'd bet one of the attorneys will toss you.

being married to an assistant district attorney work pretty well for getting out of local jury duty. Only got called once, I didn't even say anything the judge zeroed in and asked if the last name was a coincidence and I said no and he said get out.

So basically saying I will be biased because what happened in the case happened to a relative of mine should work?

I have always felt that they should only pick retired people to be in a jury. They have nothing else to do and would get a kick out of it.

If you really can't figure out how not to get picked once you're in the box, you have no business judging others.

Ive been waiting to get picked. Id like to see how the process plays out. My company pays 8 hours a day for jury for the duration of fhe time served. A coworker of mine did 7 days on a jury and got paid all 7 days

Trying to get out of jury duty is as bad as draft dodging. Why do you hate your country so much? It gives you the chance to directly make a difference in how your country is being run and somehow it is cool to get out of it. And don't even get me started with these prima donna f-ing doctors who whine about med mal lawsuits and the cost of litigation and then deem themselves too important to be on a jury. Can I get a "HE MAD"?!!!

I'd gladly do jury duty. Your employer has to pay for it right? Sounds like fun to me.

What if you don't like unconstitutional forced labor? Also, to answer the OP, just start talking about jury nullification

Only been summoned once, had my wisdom teeth removed the day before I was to report. Had a nurse fax something the day of surgery to the Judges office.
