I love when people barely know anything about Catholicism and rant about it anyway.

Wasn't an argument...just a factual observation.

In that case, your fact is wrong.

What people seem to forget is that Mary Magdalene was probably one of the closest people to Jesus on earth. The Church many, many years ago decided that a woman could not be Jesus' confidante and so decided that she should be a whore that Jesus saves. As one who grew up in the mid-50s Church, a lot of things have changed. I know a number of Nuns who are wonderful people and serve in various ministries, I would certainly have no problem with them, or other women, becoming priests. They would have to be Diocesan, as the Orders would probably not change their Rule. ETA: Hey, Noho!

Say bro, women can't be Priests. To suggest otherwise is an act of heresy. I may turn you in. Have you ever read Mary Magdalene's Gospel?

Damn, I could end up eternally damned like those pre-Vatican II folks who chowed down a cheeseburger on a Friday.

No, I've read about them, but I haven't read them.

I haven't either. But I understand it's everybit as relevant as Matty, Luke, Mark, & John. I may go to the scroll store and buy a copy.

Many years ago a guy in a funny hat decided different.

I love dry wit/humor and you are very good at it. This made me laugh out loud.

Ever heard of Lost Christianities: The Battles for Scripture and the Faiths We Never Knew by Bart Ehrman? I saw him on the Documentary channel or some such years ago and went out and bought the book immediately. It's pretty interesting and goes into all the different types of Christian faiths that existed in the first 400 years AD and why the Paulinians triumphed/ran them out.

If they already do good works, why become a priest? Their role as a nun is just as important, if not as "visible".

I see the question as "why should they not be allowed to become a priest?"

I think the guy is simply pushing his book more than anything but he's definitely got a tinfoil hat on.

Jesus showed that he had no problem including women in his ministry (see his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene), but he also never gave them priestly "powers" if you will. There was a distinction there. Mary Magdalene didn't replace Judas as the 12th apostle.
