I can't remember if it was Bowman or DOB, but one of them said that Gattis isn't physically capable of playing 3B. I see no problem with using him as a bench bat this year, seeing how it works out, and letting him and Bethancourt fight for the starting catcher spot next spring. There is very little chance that McCann is a Barve in 2014, so this is probably the FO's plan.

I noticed that Uggla is trying to take the crown as the strike out king. We could only hope he gets it together for the regular season games that actually matter.

Good to see Uggs didn't make any adjustments in the offseason. At least we know what to expect now.

What stinks about the strike out he just had was they were all called strikes. He can at least try and swing to hit the ball. He can not expect to walk all the time.

At what point do we just bench him and start Janish at 2B? At least then we would get great defense out of that position.
Not saying that his spring should have any impact on his status as of opening day, but if he is batting .185 on the season in the middle of May, when do you cut bait and give someone else a shot?

If Uggla can find his swing in the regular season and get a few hits with out striking out all of the time, Atlanta could have the best lineup in the national league.

Yeah, spring training shouldn't decide his fate. But if he is still doing this shite come June, bench his arse for anyone else. He hit .233 two years ago, and .220 last year, it's time for him to get his act together and stop bullshitting around. I'd be thrilled with a .250 avg at this point.

Uggla gave you a .350 OBP and near 20 bombs last year. He is overpaid, but running Janish out there instead is giving away wins.
