good experience, but have been back 2 more times and the food is still the same ole crappy stuff.
But the beer is good & their worker chicks are hot, you say...Beer is good almost everywhere and their worker chicks are just a notch above Waffle House waitresses.
Walk On's---No thanks

Went there with my dad right before I left B R to move to Dallas. My dad's dish was so spicy all you could taste was the spice mostly red pepper. My dad grew up in south LA and has catered cajun food for 40 years as part time so he has a pretty good idea how cajun food is supposed to taste. I took a taste as well and it was unedible might have just dumped red pepper and some garlic in my mouth.
Called the manager over I happened to be wearing a shirt with a Kansas Jayhawk on it told him the problem and he told us well this is Louisiana and that is exactly how cajun food is supposed to taste. I actually coached Brandon one of the owners and former LSU walkon in high school and I i will never go there again.
It is a joke

Horrible.
Went the other day, terrible food, terrible service. Won't get another dime from me.

I never did like that one on coursey.
Never had any bad experiences at the other, always was pleased.

Obviously, one is not like the other...To be fair, service was decent and the workers were nice enough...But the food.

I like the one on Burbank, cold beer, decent girls, crawfish, LSU, foods good enough, there are a lot of other places I would go on coursey before WO. Sometimes you people expect to much it's a sportsbar.

yeah .. i've gotten off of the walk on's bandwagon, skillz .. right when they opened the coursey location, they had some really nice looking girls working both there and at the LSU location .. but as time has gone on, those girls are no longer there and they have been replaced by run of the mill chicks that you would see working at applebee's or chilis now .. when they opened in NOLA, for a short time, the food had gotten better at all locations, but there is still a lot of stuff on the NOLA menu that you can't find at either BR location and prolly not Laffy either .. it's like they put all of their eggs in the Poydras Street basket and have just put the other locations on cruise control ..
the food has slid backwards again .. anyone can have good, cold draft beer .. that is not really a skill .. but they have decided pabst blue ribbon and schlitz are premium drafts and hit you $3 or so a pint for them .. i'll drink a big arse PBR at TJ Ribs for much less, not far away ..

I was never very impressed with the Walk On's in Lafayette until very recently. I hear they changed up the kitchen management and the place is now run far more efficiently. For whatever reason, the quality of the food is much better. I used to go there just to meet people and socialize, but the food has really improved dramatically.

Walkons is pretty much just like going to a bar IMO. Bulldog has better food but you don't go there to eat. You go to get drunk with friends.
I've never gone to Walkons unless my first notion was to have a good time with friends. Then if I get hungry ill eat something but I try to steer clear of the food.
Grilled gator, cheese fries and crawfish are all winners.
Eta: with all that being said, I like the Walkons Burbank location. Especially before or after LSU events. I'd never go to Walkons on couresy. Especially with a chimes right across the street.

Exactly. Should have offered to recook it and ask how you would like it. If that is how they want to serve it fine but if cutting down on the seasoning would have made your dad happy then they should have done that.

Walk Ons is terrible. I love that the Times Picayune tore it apart in their review of the New Orleans location.

Yeah, bar only and maybe some apps is how Walk-Ons should be treated. But I kept hearing how they upgraded their food so I went and it was pretty good that one time only.

I wonder if the restrooms have ever been cleaned at the Coursey location...It's almost as nasty as George's down the road.

besides the fact that this was just a horrible way to handle a customer concern, it is sad that even in Louisiana some folks embrace the misconception that just dumbing cayenne pepper on something makes it cajun. burns me up...

I liked BOB's...They had a good blackened fish sandwich that was less than $10...I liked their wings too...They kept the place pretty clean, but no hard liquor was a bummer.
