When I first read about this kid, I assumed he would be one of LSU's top in-state targets for 2013. But the interest never really followed.

He has great size, has a 40-inch vertical leap and put up some sick receiving numbers in games his junior year (lost track his senior year, so not sure). I saw games where he had above 150 yards receiving. And like other posters said, he's pretty good in basketball, too. Wouldn't be surprised if he develops into a special player for A&M. He and Claiborne both.

Wow--I've read more praise for this kid in three or four posts than I have in 7 months of threads on Aggie message boards.

Why was he so undervalued--both by services and major programs?

Central La doesn't get a lot of respect. I think he just got overlooked more than anything.

major programs?
This is the part that would have me worried.

As it should. I've always maintained that the most reliable source for determining a kid's value is the offer list. Schools don't always get it right. But they usually don't almost unanimously pass on bona fide studs.

That's not to say I think Shaan needs to be a bona fide stud to have value at A&M.

Agreed. Still, he's a great athlete. I will not be surprised to see major contributions. I've seen him take over a game before.
