I'm new to the PC gaming world. The last PC RTS game I played was C&C: Red Alert. Can someone hook me up with some recommendations similar to Red Alert?
TIA

You might try the latest version of Red Alert, but avoid C&C4. Also the company of heroes and dawn of war games are solid.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to check out one or two. I forgot to mention that I'm more interested in the single player aspect.

Any of you guys know anything about Empire: Total War?
I was thinking about getting it but I'm kind of hesitant on PC games.

Then definitely pick up Starcraft + Broodwar, Warcraft III + Frozen Throne, and Starcraft II + Heart of the Swarm (coming in March).

All the total war games are great. Just pick the time period you like most

I will mention that the campaigns in Supreme Commander 2 and ans Supreme Commander Forged Alliance are good, they are not new but I still go back and play them again about once a year.

Unfortunately that is true. They tried to reinvent the wheel and failed.

I love Company of Heroes. Starcraft 2 is wonderful. If you've never played Starcraft, you can pick up the battle chest for less than $20. It's still very relevant for a ten year old game. Command and Conquer Generals w/ Zero Hour is another personal favorite.
