And they asked me if the 22lr was for a handgun

Yes they have to ask that for some reason.. I think it has something to do with selling handgun ammo to someone under the age of 21.
FWIW I only shoot my 22LR out of handguns.

You do know there are a large amount of handgun models that shoot .22 LR right?
