Wow, great post you bring a lot to the conversation. Interesting that the majority of schools have kids that run fast, can bench press, run catch and pass, yet they develop at different rates from the quality of the coaching the receive. That's just my opinion.

Emmert has been a disappointment--he seems to mainly want to protect the big name schools and very slowly & deliberately sanction schools like Miami & USC.

The truth should be easy to find. Just compare upsets when small schools play the big boys. More upsets or less?

Not really. The top end athletes are, but that is a ceiling effect. The best teams have more good players, that has always been true.
