actually running backs coach
That was the snub. JC would have left River Ridge for the OC position as he was originally offered. The OC position was pulled and JC was re-offered the running backs coach position. JC said no and stayed home. At least that's the way I remember it. I was in 7th grade at the time.

Green didn't have an offer and it caused alot of bad blood, since his Dad played here. You are correct, though.
Don't forget Curtis' role in the Eddie Lacy saga, too.

JT doesn't mind where his kids go, per se, as long as they have scholarships which is one of his big goals. If a kid wants to go to LSU he will help him get there, and Curtis has sent plenty kids there. Just from last year you have Dillon Gordon and Malik Morgan.
You also have to understand that there are some coaches (or personal trainers which is big in high school sports now) which would prefer to see guys they work with go or not go to specific schools. That plays a part.
Also, there is a lot of stuff that goes on in the recruiting process that can leave a coach jaded against a school, and even LSU can do some pretty stupid things in the recruiting process. I know for a fact certain coaches at schools around New Orleans would prefer to see their athletes go other places..
Another thing I will say, though, is that the Curtis coaches are very football savvy, and they watch a good bit of college football and know which coaches can coach and which can't.

Yeah that was a long stretch with a great program too.
You know you, or perhaps someone else eluded to Curtis saying they do it without a ton of talented guys yet sign a lot of kids at the end of year, so how is that possible? Well it's two fold. Curtis runs a good system that gets their players stronger, faster, and more disciplined than other teams which is a major factor in their ability to win, but also the coaches have a LOT of connections around the college coaching world and coaches love to recruit Curtis kids because it gives them an in with NOLA and Curtis athletes.

As you've seen my the smartass responses this topic has been discussed a lot on these boards
It is a myth that JT Curtis hates LSU and steers players away from LSU. However, since a lot of people hate Curtis and there are guys from there that went to other schools. Most of the more prominent ones were when LSU was down, with the exception of McKnight. LSU has done well with Curtis guys in the 2000's. With Riley on board this year, there are 2 very good players that are LSU is in good shape for in 2014, WR Dupree and LB Young.
