Although I believe that what you posted is oversimplified I see your point.

My other question, which you did not address, is who then establsihes what is moral or what is not moral? For example, what may be considered immoral in Montana may not be considered immoral in Chicago. Who sets the standards?

Good question. Societies do, or at least attempt to. Individuals do, also, and theirs don't always conform to the ones their societies set. Whether there is a set of "universal" moral standards that every society and individual should follow is another debate entirely. I think there are some, but I am by no means certain that I'm right.

If homosexuals can't handle being referred to as "twisteds" when they refer to heterosexuals as "straights" then too bad for them.

I have never once heard a heterosexual person say they were offended by being referred to as "straight." Tell me on what planet is being referred to as "twisted" anything but hateful and negative?

Interesting discussion.

We both know that since we do not live in such a place that religions will prescribe specific morals (not all bad) and so will society. It will always boil down to what is taught at home as one is raised to be an adult.

For decades The Bible , God's Word, set the standards for the Boy Scouts - and many other institutions. Polotical correctness, pressure, tolerance, diversity, you name it has "twisted" so much information.
The Girl Scouts caved a while back. I will never buy their cookies again for that single reason.
The Boy Scouts, by not caving in to the same pressures, lost enormous amounts of corporate support but managed without them anyway.
Kudos to the BSA for changing course from what would be an eventual fatal move.

Then you are hearing it for the first time from this heterosexual.

I live in SF and I hear the term "straight" all the time and sometimes it is used in a derogatory manner. I prefer just being called what I am, heterosexual. I don't need a slang term for what I am.

I didn't like being called a "hippie" either when I was young even if no one else minded it.

It's as hateful and negative as being called "straight".

If you use the term "straight" to refer to heterosexuals when you are talking to me then I'll use the term "twisted" to refer to homosexuals when I'm talking to you.

Got it, pal?
