It's a freak occurrence dumbass. Lets never have it New Orleans again, can't wait for next year when it's in a snowstorm and the game is shit
which the NFL knew could happen and decided to risk it anyway

This is the most televised event all year. That "small outage" is a huge deal.

New Stadium = Superbowl Host. It's one of the carrots the league dangles to persuade locals to build new stadiums.

Lol your a moron. Wirhout the outage the game was already over. If anything it gave the candle sticks a chance and actually made it a game instead of a gang rape.

ESPN going to do their best to make this a talking point for as long as they can. Talking head was already going into the next segment asking "What will be the long term consequences of this?"

Color me shocked. Berman was trying so hard last night when they had the ravens coach on "if we EVER get an explanation on why the lights went out and you know BECAUSE the lights went out"

Why are people freaking out so bad, New Orleans is tied for most hosts in history and the Superdome is the most used venue in history for the Super Bowl. Obviously the NFL likes it there and enjoys the city otherwise this wouldn't have happened. People are just overreacting and freaking out over a small hiccup. No big deal, the game was delayed a bit. I can't wait to see how it goes in New Jersey next year. I'm personally hoping a blizzard hits just in time to set the game back about 2 weeks. No one cares about the crap that happened in Dallas anymore and you can book it that they'll get another Super Bowl.

And here's a serious answer: The NFL Execs LOVE the setup in New Orleans - luxurious and world renowned hotels and restaurants, bars and jazz clubs within WALKING distance to the Dome. A weeklong party of meetings, luncheons, NFL Honors Awards, HOF Announcements, dinners at the best restaurants in the world, and the best town in the world for special events, partying, music, etc. BTW Billy Joe-Bob, This is the first power outage/light problem the Dome has had since Katrina and one of only a couple since it OPENED 38 years ago. Also, it was stated that the auxiliary power was set to be used, but the officials in the Dome realized the lights were coming back on and the surge was working. They figured it was not needed since the main power was on its way back up. Guess you would react like that though, what with your glorious state set NEVER to hold a major sporting event, let alone a Super Bowl. Unless the 1st Annual Skoal-Spitting Championships will be coming to Hooterville Heights at Cecil's Bait, Tackle and Wimmen's Perfume Emporium......
