Drove 23 miles from the office to home on snow covered roads tonight and snow was flat out comin down. Made it to within 50 yards of the house and the van slid outta the driveway over into the hayfield. In 28 years I ain't never ever got stuck in my own driveway...until tonight. That caravan looks like a big, blue roundbale of hay out there in the hayfield. I'll laugh about it in the mornin...maybe. Massey-Ferguson to the rescue come sun up.

You got that right, Wick! I waited too late to leave work and come home early. Had these two clients that had IRS problems and it took me two hours to straighten it out. By then the roads had got BAD. You couldn't have drove a finishin nail up my butt on the ride back home. Caravans are NOT snowmobiles. Hope to get pics of my blue round bale in the mornin.

Yep. A van. Had to have something where I could separate them granddaughters we're raisin. Put the 10 year old in the back seat and the 12 year old in the front seat so they don't kill each other whilst I'm drivin. Tried puttin one of em in the bed of the truck and one in the cab, but the lawdogs got excited about that.

Usually happens 2-3 times a year to me, except this year. New studded tires have helped. My driveway is about 150 yards long and at the base of a mountain so it's pretty steep. We get "pineapple express" warm fronts that bring rain and polish my driveway down so slick you can't stand on it, much less drive. Several times a year I slide down into a snow bank and have to get pulled out by a neighbor. Last Feb we had two vehicles and the neighbors F-350 all stuck at the same time, trying to push the wifes car out.

I've got studded snow tires on my truck. Those studs do make a difference. I ain't seen a set of chains on a car in 20 years now. Yeah, it's real aggravatin to get one vehicle stuck, much less three or four. That's why I got stuck. We've had floods down here. All that water froze last night on the driveway since it got down to 13 here last night and then it snowed on top of that ice.

Snow is a snap IMO. Particularly if the temp is below 28 degrees. It's when it melts or it rains and polishes the surface. The snowplow guy just makes it worse by smoothing it. I parked by my mailbox on the street several times last year, didn't want to risk it.

I have an escape chute... On the right side of the picture. This pic was taken about halfway up the driveway. It's kind of steep, but there are worse around here.

Got six inches here right now and I mean six inches of snow. Come to think of it, yeah, that's right. Got six inches here now.

My girls would have a blast sled ridin on your driveway! The 10 year old (my fiddle player) ain't hardly scared of nothin. She'd ride a sled all the way down your driveway. But I sure wouldn't. Now wouldn't it be neat to see Geauxt on a sled goin down that driveway, reachin for luminum cans as he whizzed by em?

Yeah, I have a pretty good run behind the house too, but the stop is a bit iffy..

The kids have several sleds buried back there we haven't been able to find. I'll take a run every once in a while, still enjoy sledding.
