I don't know where you can camp, but are you looking to drive up a truck and pitch a tent or hike and camp?

Desoto National Forest, Black Creek Trail.
Clear Springs Campground, Meadville Ms (Homochitto NF).
If you have access to a boat/kayak, Deer Island is a nice spot.

Check out Fountainbleu State Park in Mandeville on the lakefront. It is incredibly nice and has all of the amenities one could ask for in a camping spot. The park is huge and gorgeous. It truly is a great asset for the state.

Haven't been there in over 40 years. Was nice way back then. Then I was told it went to shite, but after Katrina, they rebuilt it nice.
OP needs to answer if he is tenting or campering and what his intrest are.
Check out LW&F web site for state parks.

Check out Mason Creek, Paul B Johnson, Flint Creek and I know I'm missing a few.
These are in MS.

except, of course, sewer hookups. (only like 3 spots next to one of the bath houses have hookups). Louisiana really needs to get with the program on providing sewer hook ups. Unlike MS, only a few in LA have them; most do not.
