The part that I do not understand is that you have this world class city that becomes 80% black by 2000. Then, 180,000 blacks LEAVE the city over the next 10 years because things are so bad. But, we are still talking about racism being the problem for blacks in America?
That doesn't make any sense.
If there was ever a place where blacks should be able to thrive, it should have been in Detroit from 1990-2010. What is the problem? Why are blacks leaving?
I don't understand. I mean that.

Detroit fascinates the shite out of me.
You know how some people are fascinated with places like Chernobyl and other places like that. That's Detroit for me.

Most of the brand new mega cities in the ME is built on slave labor. The live in what is essentially prison camps miles from the city and are bussed in.

Nope. Oil rich Arab countries pay big money for foreign labor. Lot of Indians, Malaysian/Chinese and yes... Americans.

It always makes me laugh how everybody is a Political Scientist when it comes to Detroit. 99% of people who like to chime in have never even been there. Everyone likes to discuss the 'progressive' politics, but no one even brings up the fact that Detroit has arguably had the most (and worst) corruption over the last 50 years of any U.S. city, still going on to this day.

more government = more corruption. it's a byproduct/unintended (hopefully) consequence of progressive politics
