I don't think it's him as much as it is the game as a whole. Politicians pose for pictures with things they obviously don't do as a hobby with the intent on winning some approval points.
This is the same as when Kerry pulled the hunting card.
Basically crack it up to trying too hard rather the man himself. For example, here's me letting Obama win and lose.
Lose (obviously a stupid photo op to encourage Americans to be more active and an attempt to show that Obama is a normal guy like anyone else):
Win (because despite how terrible the form is and how obvious it is that Obama never had anyone to play catch with, big name celebs get called on to throw a first pitch. it was still for political gain but this is what other people do too):

If you girlfriend/wife told you that she wasn't sleepin around, and you caught her in bed with another guy...would you EVER believe here again?
Bottom line. Obama promised health care reform with "transparent" debate of C-Span, and a serious effort to raise our health care bar. What did we get? Closed doors shutting out the R's...vote buying on a scale that SHOULD be criminal, and a policy that has more to do with "fundamentally changing this nation" into a WE Socialist Democracy than bettering health care services. 
Bottom line. "He that is faithful in little, is faithful in much". (Biblical) I wouldn't believe the man if he told me that he took a crap last night. He's dishonest and disingenuous to his Authoritarian Statist core.
I have NO INTENTION of being a chump/useful idiot/dupe again, though I was in voting for the prick the first time.
We're on the verge of serious hurt. We need HONESTY at the top, if we are to avoid a streetfight. Screw that lying mf'r; he's making it a LOT worse.

He isn't shooting skeet. You can tell because his body isn't twisted and the angle of the barrel is low. Actually it probably is only as high as it is because of recoil. So trap is probably what he is doing.
Now with that out of the way, Obama shooting clays with a 410 is like the WH saying Obama likes shooting rifles and he's given a BB gun. Or that he likes handguns and he's out there shooting a Sig Mosquito.

That analogy makes no sense....shooting skeet or trap requires shooting a gun with more kick? Wow, never knew that was the point! I always thought it was about hand/eye coord. Your criticism is baseless...you're trying too hard to find fault.

I think you need to reread the thread. Someone mentioned the gun looked like a 410 and I found fault with that because in my mind that's a child's gun. Two other posters said it was a 20 gauge and I said something like "good, he gets a lot more credibility." Now how is that part trying to find fault?
The part about recoil was referencing that he is probably shooting trap and not skeet. That isn't a dig either, I do both when I go to the range. It was an observation.
The whole point of me starting this thread is the photo op angle. The WH takes all kinds of pictures that it keeps in storage for whenever Obama might need to gain some legitimacy in a certain area. That part (which I mentioned above is more the game of American politics rather than Obama himself) is the real criticism I have. I despise the fake aspect of politics.

I'm thinking Mossbergs only use the extended choke tubes on models larger than .410. But I'm not certain.
