So the w7 start menu is a clusterfrick, with it's infinite options to organize, and it's conveniently located search box. . . . . .but the windows-phone start screen is not a clusterfrick of shittiness? Fanboys. . .God love ya

I'm trying to tell you, just start typing at the Win8 start screen... it will start searching. Apps, files, or settings, it will find it. No need to click the start button, click inside the search box, or even touch the mouse. Just type.

What if you don't want to have to go to a completely different screen to search? I'll tell you what, you download 3rd party software because Windows thinks "convenience" is a four letter word

What are you searching for, and what difference does it make what "screen" you're on? Your programs keep running. quote:

Well, if you must, go ahead and download a start menu replacement so you can click it, then scroll, then click the app folder you want, then finally click the app you want. You know, for convenience. Or, if you are on the desktop screen, just hit the windows key on your keyboard (to bring up that dreaded start screen) and type the app name and then enter. Just quit complaining and try it. You will forget about digging through the start menu in no time.

let's not mention that the design simply looks stupid. I quickly bought a laptop after the Win 8 release that still has win 7. I'll wait until windows' next release to upgrade...that's what I've done in the past. Always skip one release.

I will also add that everywhere in BR that normally carries both OS', say they can't keep w7 on the shelves recently. Boxes that had been gathering dust is suddenly hot shit

The taskbar functions exactly as in Win7 with the pinning. I don't know why you're so hung up on it being a "separate interface". Do you go into panic mode because your open apps have "disappeared"? The 8 start screen is faster, simpler, and less cluttered than the old start menu. Have you tried the type to search yet?

Sorry, don't know; it's just a funny image about the success of win 8. But I'd imagine if you are willing to pay, most any local computer store can throw win 7 on it for you.

You sound like some old dude who is freaking out because you bought a car with automatic transmission but only know how to drive a standard. Are you old? Sorry, geezer.
