I'll be going down there. Leaving in an hour or two.

Ditto.

Let's try to meet up before the game. Maybe we can coordinate seating?

I think we'll be at the bar or restaurant at the Hilton Garden Inn around 1pm. (Team is staying there, we're not). Might be some player's family there as well.
Look for purple/gold

I'll post a " meet in Starkville" thread later, if anyone is interested.

So pumped for this one!

'll be there! Making the short drive from Jackson to catch (I think) my first ever road basketball game. I think it'll be a good one to go to as well since Miss State can hardly find a starting 5 each night out on the court.

We're going too. Gonna try to get some kind of pre-game gathering going. Maybe at the Hilton Garden Inn's bar or restaurant around 1pm??

I'll start a thread about "meeting in Starkville" later for anyone interested.

On paper, LSU looks like the better team, but it is on the road.

Let's use the Georgia game as a lesson. They looked about as down and out as a team could look and we flat out didn't show up and let one slip.

The hope is...lesson learned.

LSU 68-61.

Job finally got healthy. The last few games he's been playing his arse off.
Hickey as well.
Stringer has finally become an sharp shooter.

If this team had a godfry or odo it could be a few wins better.
But you find out what your made of on the road in the sec.

Throw records, stats, players ect. Out the window for this one....LSU/Ms. State seems to always be a game decided by a last second bucket....

Saw you on TV Wednesday night near the end of the game. Right after we salted it. You looked relieved.

Good to see ESPN3 is streaming an FSN broadcast, didn't know they did that.

We can either pass it down low to JOB

Last game it seemed that JOB got the ball multiple times above the three point line when they ran their half court sets. I, of course, yelled because JOB has no business catching the ball there. When he dribbles above the free throw line I hold my breath as he usually does not make the best decisions. Anyone else noticing he has been catching it there sometimes?

state is a really bad team. We should take this one imo

So were Auburn, South Carolina and Georgia. I would not bet on this game. This team has been so up and down and is so fragile because of depth issues that every game is a crapshoot.

One thing is certain. This team plays on emotion and heart. It is hard to keep putting everything you have out there week after week. Knowing that nothing less than a great effort will win a game.

And as I have said repeatedly, we live and die by the three. Oh we can win without hitting a good percentage of the three's but it sure does make it easier. Will we be hot today? Time will tell.

Yes, I notice and cringe everytime. Why a guard would want to throw the ball to a big man that far away from the basket is beyond me but it is obvious that is the way that they have been coached.

I have seen other teams do it also not just us. It is apparently a planned half court set that is started by the big man coming out and getting the ball. Sure they then can run a screen or give and go after that but what I don't like is that it makes your big man into a passer which is not what most of them do well.

The main reason to give the ball to a post player up high is to remove a big player from the lane. If JOB makes a good pass to a guard it opens up the lane for a driving player. As he matures it will be important he can control to ball there.

I understand that but I don't think he is able to do it quite yet. To me, he does not have the vision or ability to break an effective trap if he had the ball beyond the arc. Especially when he starts dribbling up there I

I think his last 4 games or so he has been a very effective passer. He had 3 assists against Missouri. I don't like him dribbling, but having the ball up high is fine with me. They have done an effective pick and pass play with him and hickey where jOB passes to Hickey around a screen that I like.
