They had a few meetings at LSU regarding this and I attended the meetings.
The key is the businesses they decide for retail space. The champions/tailgate plaza would be really nice on gamedays.
From what I gather this is completely separate from what the city decides on doing with the Brightside/Nicholson clusterfrick.
That being said I don't have an optimistic outlook on either. The new married student housing looks different than what was proposed in the meetings.

Looks like a great plan. Street car part is a pipe dream, though.

Street car wouldn't be that hard and I think people would use it.
I can tell you one thing id srsly consider selling my business If I was in tigerland. Because. Street car to downtown that stops at dorms and student housing would be a death nail

You're out of this thread because you're wrong. I can't recall the last time I've crossed that Nicholson/Burbank interesection during a baseball game and a cop wasn't there. A bridge is not needed. It's not hard to cross. And if you have kids, drop your kids off and then park your car elsewhere and do it yourself.

My understanding is that the LSU component of the design would just be to implement a wide enough median from Skip Bertman to Chimes that would account for the proposed Street Car that would be built by CATS (or some other entity).

I do hate when people try and compare LSU's geographical arrangement in Baton Rouge to the likes of UGA, Bama, Ole Miss, etc.
Tenn, Vandy, and USC are the only schools that compare to LSU in terms of the type of city they are located within.
