When I work plain clothes, no. When I'm in a uniform what good does it do to conceal? To make up for that I use a retention holster, wear body armor, and carry an additional concealed gun. But hey feel free to talk about all the cops you've bested on an internet forum.

Open carry of a pistol will get you lots of attention, although personally I don't see any problem with it. Open carry of an AR15...I think that's a bit much. Not to say it should be "illegal" per-say...but it clearly demonstrates a lapse in judgement by the person doing it. Somewhere I heard the term "propensity of use". Although the propensity of use of a pistol is darn near ZERO any given day, I will still carry one because it doesn't really effect anyone but me. I carry concealed so no one is the wiser. Carrying an AR15, despite such incredibly low propensity of use, can rightly be called attention whoring.

Upfront, I apologize for being a jerk. Sometimes I fly off the handle about stuff when there is not good reason for it.

True, but there a thousand more plausible scenarios than this, Most of which involve a potential criminal finding a softer target. If you find CC works better for you, then great. I fully support you. But classifying OC as a tactical error is a bit of a stretch.

Very often this is true.
