I did for one season, we leased into the white camp off of 102 in Roanoke and three or so blinds around there. The land is what it is around there as long as you have a good farmer (Wayne Phenis) you will likely smoke the teal early and have a decent season, but I would NEVER EVER recommend doing any type of business with Reggie. He's a fat, lazy, self absorbed piece of shite who's only worried ab his money. So no, do not do it!

We had cannons maybe 3/4 of a mile away and only caused issues when birds we're really working the dekes hard. They went off every 12 minutes I think. It actually made it rather sporty as you had to keep an eye on your watch if you had birds working.

Know him well....I hunted his school section for years...he always has been on top of things. He'll send his worker out there on some days just to drive around decoys to muddy the water.....little things that produced results

You grew up around Welsh?

shot some teal early but thats about it. We switched to hunting geese in the middle of the season because there were no ducks. I would just go turn the cannons off when I got to the field.

Works for new birds, kinda....but it screws you long term for ducks that fly the pattern regularly or maybe want to rest there.....

Any of you ever consider finding the farmer with the cannons and discussing leasing from him and take the place of the cannons?

So i did read the thread on LASM. Heard the Reggie guy was a nice guy for the most part.

I know what blinds they had the cannons on and checking them out this weekend so I should be able to tell if they have cannons or not.

I talked to jimjackandjose already about this but just for everyone else,

I lease from Reggie and was in his personal "club" this year. I m new to the area, didn't know of any leases or anyone to split a lease with an so he invited me to join his club. We rotated thru 3 blinds in Roanoke and Welsh. Teal season was ridic, limits in 30 min or less for 6 guys.
He told me the big duck season would be just average around that area an even said a certain blind of ours would probably suck.
I was able to take a couple of guys from the OB to that "sucky" blind and did just average.

I'm leasing from Reggie again next year. He s offered to provide all dekes for me for the season. I have nothing but good things to say about him and the other guys in the club that I was able to meet.

Sorry to hear about that guy's cannon experience but sounds like he put on his big boy pants and figured his problem out on his own
