I guess it makes no sense to think that the Pats have a hall of fame QB, and for a number of years, especially during the SB winning seasons they had a really good defense.
People will have their opinions I guess.

Hypothetically, if you're a defensive player and you know where an offensive player is going to go, don't you think you'd have a better chance of tackling him and attempting to force a fumble than you would if you had no idea what he was going to do?
Hypothetically yes, you would know where to go to tackle him, but forcing the fumble is a whole different set of variables. Some ball carriers are very good at not fumbling, some defenders excel at forcing fumbles and vice versa.
Anything in regards to how a ball carrier carries the football could be gleaned from watching any regular game film.

Well, again, the better chance you have of tackling the guy, the better your chance of making him fumble.

Just ask Stevan Ridley. If you knock him out, he'll fumble
The one thing that's funny to me is that a team is accused of something and one insignificant organizational person says, no, it didn't happen, and it's gospel... But multiple people insist bounty gate didn't exist and the saints get hammered regardless (because Brett Favre ) ... I know evidence exists for both and I'm not going to say neither happened, but spy gate ruffled a lot more feathers than bounty gate. And if they did it for years, why would they DEFINITELY NOT have been doing it in the biggest game of the year?

Filming walkthroughs is not something they were accused of doing for years

Belichick's regular season record as Head Coach of the Patriots BEFORE the "Caught Spying" game --- 75 wins, 37 losses.
Belichick's regular season record as Head Coach of the Patriots AFTER the "Caught Spying" game --- 75 wins, 20 losses.
Guess he really had to rely on that filming thingy ...

how many super bowls has he won since he got caught?
Posted on 1/31/13 at 11:27 am to NHTIGER
I could just as easily point out that his playoff record before Spygate was 12-2. After Spygate, his playoff record is 5-5.

same with the Saints bounty scandal by the end of it. A 3 year program turned into a 2 game stretch in the hearings

Kidding aside, its funny how the whole Spygate thing was quickly washed away and never talked about.
El oh el.
Apparently you weren't alive during the 2007 season.
There was zero evidence they filmed any Super Bowl practices. Other teams taped signals, hell other SB winning coaches taped signals their ENTIRE CAREER.

"Oh please. I've said it on our show," said Johnson when asked if he was bothered by what Belichick did. "Eighteen years ago a scout for the Chiefs told me what they did, and he said what you need to do is just take your camera and you go and zoom in on the signal caller and that way you can sync it up. The problem is that if they're not on the press box side you can't do it from the press box, you have to do it from the sideline. This was 18 years ago."

they proceeded to have the most dominent season in NFL history the year after. One lucky arse miracle play stopped them from being the greatest team of all-time

Ouch.
The only time my dad and I have got drunk together is when David Tyree was no longer employed in the NFL.
The second time will be when Pollard is no longer employed in the NFL.

This is true.
ETA: BUT IF THEY CHEATED THEY COULD HAVE KNOWN TYREE WAS GOING TO CATCH THE BALL WITH HIS HELMET AND COULD HAVE STOPPED IT11!!11

Not to mention Eli's miracle escape before that. That was without a doubt the luckiest play I have ever seen.
People hate on great teams (like the 2009 Saints cough: Highland Plantation :cough)

It's easy to hate belichick. People hate people who have success. Especially sustained success.
Bill belichick is probably the greatest football coach that has ever lived.
3 SB rings (Head Coach)
2 SB rings (Def Coord)
5 SB appearances (Head Coach)
8 SB appearances (Head Coach and Def Coord)
187 wins as Head Coach
18 playoff wins as Head Coach (3rd All-Time)

If Marshall Faulk got 10 more carries, the Rams win the game. Spygate or not, Martz blew it.

There is no denying any of those accomplishments
But there is also no denying that they did cheat at least at one point
I don't know how much of an edge it gave them but any edge can make a big difference throughout the course of a game

Not really, teams change signals every quarter.
It's not like coaches were putting the menu in front of their mouth for no reason, they knew teams did this kind of stuff.
