re: Can non-ranch hands wear cowboy boots?
I went to Cavender's to buy a plain brown pair of Justin ropers that I can wear everyday, since my 4 year old alligator boots are showing a lot of age. Then I saw those Luccheses. I held the two next to each other and even at 3x the price I knew I had to get them.

The only other roper that looks nearly as good is made by Billy Reid, who's more of a fashion designer so who knows how long they'll last.

whoever said black cherry ostrich, I kige that.

I'm still country boy at heart so I've got a few pairs of boots. My favs are the black ostrich Lucchese's and I've got some wild rattlesnake's I picked up for $15 at a thrift shop in a pretty ghetto area of Little Rock. Got em as a costume prop, but those boots are so sweet I wear em out, tuck the jeans in and get rowdy!

Men wear boots. Boots are handy even if you dont't ride a horse.

Not big on the square toes, but to each his own.

Lucchese, Justin, Nacona, Dan Post.

Boots went through a period where they were as high as a cat's ass, but they have come back down to normal prices.

My company bought me these elephant skin Lucchese's. My first pair of cowboy boots and I wish I would've known how comfortable they are before I got them. Solid purchase for anyone I would say.

Not a single person on here uses their boots for anything other than to look fly. People aren't using their ostrich boots because they're handy.

There's nothing wrong with it just call a spade a spade. You wear them to get the chicks wet .

I strongly disagree with this as I sit here offshore with my steel toes.

Simple $50 Justin ropers work great for looking good and the slick bottom is great for throwing your old lady around the dance floor.

Of course, more expensive ones will be far more comfortable and stylish. Luchasse makes some incredibly nice boots.

See this sounds appealing to me. I could see myself in a Honky Tonk picking up some big titty blonde with some 2 inch shite kickers on

re: Can non-ranch hands wear cowboy boots?
pretty much. My work boots are Redwing's or my muck boots if it's really wet and muddy. I like having a tread with some grip when I'm doing whatever the old man drops in my lap at a second's notice. If we didn't have atv's and tractors then regular cowboy boots would be a must to get out of the stirrups quickly. I'd rather just walk to the pasture than catch one of the horses and saddle them up etc.

trill, when you find yourself in Tulsa hit up Drysdale's, huge selection and lots of different hides and color combos.

Go for it. Cheap ropers are about 50 bucks and as long as you keep them clean the casual observer will not notice a thing.
