Once again our wonderful justice system is doing work

Drop the charges on a drug dealer for ratting out his friends, but punish compassion with fines and/or jail time

It's a shame that our culture has become so focused on risk avoidance(that deer could hurt someone) at the expense of common sense.

Yeah, some crazy laws, and common sense should prevail, but most times, common sense is thrown out the window. A few years ago, while driving home from work, some folks ahead of me hit a doe. Deer was layin in the ditch by the road and was suffering greatly. They asked me to shoot it and put it out of its misery. I refused because, by then, other traffic had stopped and I would not take the chance on being seen by a tattletale and consequently charged with: hunting out of season, discharging a firearm within a public road right of way, hunting with a disallowed weapon, hunting after legal hunting hours, and spotlighting (since it was after dark and we had a flashlight). Deer laid there and suffered until it died. Crazy laws and even crazier tattletales out there...

If the cops hadn't busted them, would they have ever let the thing out, uh, I mean, escape? Regardless, as soon as that thing hit the 100 pound mark, it'd be on the grill.

That doesn't matter. The government folks wanted to put it down on the spot. At least the couple were giving it a chance at life.

I guess the rationale was it was used to people so it would have no problems getting in close to us. If it did and then got threatened, it might attack? I'd still grill it up.
