Yeah, I can't believe all the other clues weren't enough to make an impression, especially everything you were telling them.

Not sure I can give out those details but it was the same guy that the WS site had a hard on for. The rumor I heard before I knew about him from LE was that his gf confessed that he ran over someone and they arrested him. It was for a different case though. That's when they turned to Brandon after the dealership tip came in. I imagine it was a bit of a roller coaster ride at LE HQ. Everyone in Laffy was talking about this guy (my moms side of the family was telling me this guy killed her while I knew about Brandon...it was very awkward)

This thread even further proves Adam solved the case
There were a few people involved that were detrimental (myself included), I am by no means taking 100% credit. More will be told tonight I'm sure on the show. I'm anxious to watch

I met the guys who were fishing in whiskey bay and caught her bicycle. That story is interesting all by itself. It's a small world, folks.

Is it true they tried calling the tip line , but couldn't get through and ended up taking the bike home?

It's entirely proper for them to be motivated by community response. They (in theory at least) work for the community, and that means if said community gets worked up over something the police have to respond to it.

Don't think they immediately called the tip line. One of the guys caught a fish. Upon reeling it in, the line snagged the bike. Bike was submerged. They kept the bike because their dad or uncle is in the scrap metal business. When they got home, a female in the family immediately recognized the bike from the fliers and the media. They called the police at that point. And it gets even more interesting; the fishermen have a long history with BSL.

He traded his truck in? I thought it was burnt up? He clearly did something suspicious in response to the community involvement making things a little uncomfortable. Glad he was caught relatively quickly. I'll definately be watching the program tonight. And Adam...thanks for being a good citizen.

It was burnt up. I think he meant to say that it when it was purchased, not traded. Cut him some slack, he's a mini celeb now

Wow, never heard that about the bike. At first the media was saying the guys spotted the bike and called it in

Which is another testament to the great job Charlie and Mickey's friends did with regard to social media and getting the information out there as quickly and as loudly as they could.

And trust me, the cops did more than 1/4 of the legwork homeboy. Don't fool yourself into thinking that "the people" did the real work. Hell, the guy was in front of 4 diff. LE agencies, driving the white truck all jacked up with scars and a Sex Offender charge, and being the main suspect in a unsolved murder, all within a week of the incident and he wasn't even on the cop's radar. Without "the people" he's probably still in his trailer.
Exactly, the only reason they could be responsible for a 1/4 of the work is because good samaritan's had to point them in the right direction. It wasnt done by sleuthing.

Quick question: It seems obvious our police were pretty dumb about this one. Any chance dateline calls them out? I mean I hope you told the producers you had to send them tips every day for 2 fricking weeks before they would even act on it. Makes me wonder if this happens in every investogation or we just that dumb about catching murderers

Not sure, LPD treated them like kings for the entire week or so they were down here and gave them a boatload of info. The producer knows just about everything that went on and made comments that suggest he knows this case would still be at square one without us.
