Sounds like some serious bro science.

Its all about calories in minus calories out. If this is a negative number, in time you will start dropping lbs. It really is that simple.

Diets often cause caloric deficits, resulting in weight loss in the initial start of the program due to the use of glycogen, protein, and fat stores. However, eventually metabolism begins to slow down to preserve the energy stores that are left in the body. This is caused by the numerous factors, such as the hypothalamus detecting changes in fat stores and thus lowering metabolism to replenish the fat lost

oh I know but there is more health wise then what you weigh, atleast this is what some people tell me. IF your main goal is to lose weight yes cut calories that is simple but I would think eating 1000 calories of fast food is less healthy then eating 1000 calories of organic self prepare foods. like a salad a mcdonalds is less healthy then a salad you would make for yourself at home. I have also heard eating off the land aka eating what is natural to your area is more healthy then eating stuff that isn't natural to your area.

Ok, metabolism is lowered, thus lowering the (calories out) part of the equation, but the equation is still true, correct?

Yea you're right, I was just speaking more as it pertains strictly to weight loss (hence the drop lbs part).

Another reason for obesity today is the lack of taunting. In the 50s if you were fat you were called 'Fatty' and made fun of. Today children are taught that we're all wonderful and differences are great.

no not really...but in the simplest form...yeah I guess.... anorexia and bulimia work too. but it's like paying bills using a credit card....very soon after the diet stops, fat police will come back to collect with interest. ie people doing these things destroy their metabolism and will very quickly gain weight again.

no just more food options that are unhealthy try to eat healthy, it's hard, unless you plan for it.

Yes, and anorexia and bulimia work because they drastically reduce calories in. I'm not saying there aren't extraneous factors that complicate how one can control calories out or in, just that at the end of the day thats how you lose or gain weight.

It's really not. Buy bags of chicken breasts, rice, Tuna fish, ground turkey. Mix in salads, fruit and veggies. That's cheaper than eating premade crap.

You nailed it. I say make 'em eat outside (like smokers) and tease 'em when they come in. That would help the situation. Giving a tax break to buy food and food stamps isn't the answer.

not really, you really could survive on salads. go to walmart buy a think of baby spinach buy some lunch meats, some other types of veggies some eggs and such and you can make a low calorie filling salad. for breakfast scramble two eggs just add butter to help it cook, and have some spinach on the side. Again good filling breakfast not many calories. and these are only a couple of CHEEP ways to eat healthy. These two meals will be in the future for me staple meals, and I don't have to make that much to eat it.

True story that I told here some years ago. I knew a college student named Ann. She was about 5-9, 200. Age 19. Very bright and very articulate. But too heavy. She was a broadcast journalism major. Five years later I saw her and she was 150. I barely recognize her. Me: "What happened? You've lost so much weight." Ann: "Well, we went to celebrate my birthday at one of those Shogun Restaurants where you sit with other people not in your party. A woman asked me what I wanted to do and I said I wanted to be an anchor on TV news. She told me that she was in the field and that I had no chance unless I lost a lot of weight. I was shocked. In my entire life no one had ever called me fat. So, I lost the weight and got a job. I just wish that someone had told me the truth earlier."

make your own breakfast, lunch, and dinners.....not operate like everyone else and be able to grab and go. plus this doesn't work after your metabiolism is screwed up, you have to work out daily to build it back up. it's not "just small changes"...it's entire lifestyle changes( i don't mean eating)...you have to get up and do 30min-1hr in the morning.....egg white veggie omlet and a brief workout... you have to use 20 mins of your lunch break to "make lunch"...10 mins to eat at night, you have to make and eat dinner before 6:30pm...wash all dishes.....vs just throwing away the fast food bag

ok set your alarm 30 minuets earlier get up scramble some eggs (takes maybe 10 15 minuets to do) then make a salad for lunch or cook something that can easily be warmed up at work. Not that hard. again just wake up earlier. if you have an issue of washing dishes then you have a serious problem its not hard to throw the extra food in the trash rise it with water put it in the washing machine and start it. So its sounds like a lazyiness problem rather then actually being difficult to eat healthy.

I don't get up early. I eat whole grain cereal or oatmeal or something filling that takes 5 minutes to make. Sometimes will make eggs but nothing fancy. I work out at night but used to do so in the morning. Once it's a habit it's not a big deal.

Are you cooking from raw ingredients for lunch? I make meals at home and portion them out into smaller tupperwares for lunch. Bring one to work, pop in the microwave...takes less time than the people who go get something from a restaurant.

You can't fix lazy. But the make a big meal and portion into tupperwares still applies here. Then you only have to cook a couple times a week instead of daily.
