1000 yds and 200 carries is middle of the pack statistics in CFB. The OP is talking about Hill being the LSU GOAT. They had solid years, but nothing special. No back will be "Special" under Miles.
I know we platoon our RBs, but I think they saw enough of Hill last season to know he needs to get a majority of the touches. Hilliard was healthy and almost dissapeared because we were riding Hill. Blue will get more than Hialliard because he's a change of pace guy and is versatile. Consider Bama has had big seasons out of their RBs with a two to 3 back rotation the last few years. Ingram/Richardson, Richardson/Lacey, Lacey/Yeldon

do you know where that season puts scott in the all-time best years in lsu history? 5th. only kevin faulk, charles alexander, and dalton hilliard had more than scott did in 2008. ridley's season in 2010 was the 7th most rushing yards in lsu history. you know how many 1000 yard rushers saban had at lsu? 1, justin vincent with 1,001 in 2003. the years in which we've done this running back by committee thing with no primary guy have been years that no one guy should have been carrying the load. i suggest you go back and look and see the volume of hill's carries per game once he was named the starter.

Ridley had more carries his junior year then Ingram did his Heisman year.

I hope he enjoys his time in Baton Rouge and stays for the next 2 at least.
LSU will be pretty lucky to have him stick around for 2 more years, let alone more.

sure, it's middle of the pack in cfb, but only 5 running backs had 200 carries in the SEC last year, and only 2 of them had more rushing yards than ridley or scott did.
good point. I'd be curious to see just how many LSU running backs make it the the NFL... off the top of my head, it seems like the majority of the backs who get even limited playing time at LSU make it to the NFL for at least a season, if not more. I'd say that's far more of a pro than a con. LSU tends to be a good school for running backs.

Split time with Blue, Hilliard and maybe Brazil.
Blue yes...hilliard has been a disappointment from last year against good competition so yea he will lose some carries but not many....Brazil wont play rb and if he does he wont be but maybe 3 carries a game on a wildcat kinda deal...IMO it will be Blue and Hill for the most part

since 2005, counting practice squad players, addai, vincent, williams, scott, hester, holliday, ridley, and murphy have all played in the nfl. alley broussard would have been another but he never was the same again after getting hurt. honestly, i think broussard may have been the most talented back to ever play at lsu. so lsu has put 8 backs in the nfl since 2005, and ford and ware's status is TBD

Hill & Blue with Hilliard. That's a deadly combo.
Depends on how the O-line does.

So he can split time with Scarborough and TJ Yeldon?

thanks for putting the work in... and Quinn Johnson arguably makes 9... arguably only because he's a fullback instead of a pure RB. I doubt many, if any, other schools put as many backs in the league.

You can say it all you want, but 1100+ yards in the SEC is damn good.

Dude's going to take a step back next year. Split time with Blue, Hilliard and maybe Brazil. Then take off for the draft. It's how things work and will always work with Miles. I hate to say it, but if Fournette actually wants to make an impact, he should go to Bama. CLM likes rotating backs too much for any to shine.
you must've been watching LSU since 2011 then, becasue that's not Miles's trend. Ridley, Hester, Scott, Addai were all workhorse RBs for us. In 2011 it was Ware/Ford and Blue would finish games after we got the lead. Hilliard wasn't even playing until Ware had his suspension. This year, they tried Hill becasue every other RB had issues getting into the end zone. Hill looked beastly and got the lion's share of the carries from the SCAR game on. If Fournette were to goto Bama, look at the depth chart there. They will have 7 RBs all within 2 years of each other. LSU was very lucky to have the backfield we did the past couple years, but I expect you will see LSU move back to having a legit starter that gets the majority of carries, similar to Miles's first 6 years as HC.
