I really think Hill may be the best RB to come through LSU in a long time. He showed significant improvement over the season. He eliminated the hop at the end of his runs. He has good vision, power and quickness. I'd like to see him get more use in the passing game and get him on the edge more. His size would give DBs fits. I doubt he stays long due to him having to sit out a year with legal issues, but if he did I think he would potentially be one of the best all-time.

Thoughts?

I think he is definitely our most valuable asset in the backfield. I hope he enjoys his time in Baton Rouge and stays for the next 2 at least.

Dude's going to take a step back next year. Split time with Blue, Hilliard and maybe Brazil. Then take off for the draft. It's how things work and will always work with Miles. I hate to say it, but if Fournette actually wants to make an impact, he should go to Bama. CLM likes rotating backs too much for any to shine.

Yeah man. It's an anomaly that both Scott and Ridley both got to 1000 yards, huh.

Both had over 200 carries in the years they had over 1000 yards.

Hill & Blue with Hilliard. That's a deadly combo.

long as they don't forget about him in the 4th qtr anymore, sky's the limit.

but by doing this he saves their legs and bodies for the NFL.

TR had knee surgery before the season even started and played much of this season with broken ribs.

1000 yds and 200 carries is middle of the pack statistics in CFB. The OP is talking about Hill being the LSU GOAT. They had solid years, but nothing special. No back will be "Special" under Miles.

people say this all the time, but it's really over-exaggerated and simply not accurate. since miles has been the coach, we've had starters have:
2010: Stevan Ridley 1187 yards
2008: Charles Scott 1208 yards
2007: Jacob Hester 1118 yards
2005: Joseph Addai 941 yards (and he played hurt for at least a month)

If Blue doesn't get hurt or Hill had started the entirety of the season, I have no doubts that either would have gone over 1000. Hill had 775 yards with only 5 starts. Hill didn't even start getting many touches until game 7 against South Carolina.

Definitely a great selling point. I just don't think that this sentiment convinces a 17 year old prodigy though.

sure, it's middle of the pack in cfb, but only 5 running backs had 200 carries in the SEC last year, and only 2 of them had more rushing yards than ridley or scott did.

do you realize how far back any incoming RB would be in bama's depth chart right now? we're deep as well, but we just had 2 guys in our rotation leave, have hill who could declare after this year, and alfred blue who's a senior, although i guess he could apply for a medical redshirt if he wanted. the only guy a recruit would have to worry about is hilliard, and hilliard didn't exactly impress the second half of the season.
