I you have tickets for a 1iota event you get a parking pass with it.

Anyone know if the Okeefe exit from 90 east is open

Just to throw this out there, yesterday was AWESOME! Went check out Media Day, then off to SportsNation, then walk the Quarter, then finished up at Gordon Biersche at their Tapping Party. The whole day was perfect and we barely even spent any money.

Media Day- was neat to see the behind the scenes activities and what goes down at Media Day. We were 5 rows off the field so we were able to check out some cool stuff and watch alot of the drama unfold.

SportsNation-probably the coolest part of the day. I had got tickets off of Iota and got their at the right time to be able to be where ever we wanted to be in the crowd. We obviously were up front and it was a great time. Lots of interaction with Charissa, Marcelles, Herm, Chris Carter, Romonowski, and Brett Kiesel. Definitely one of the coolest things out of the whole day.

Walk the Quarter-Definitely do this just to do it.After leaving the ESPN compound(located onside of Jax Brewery) we went walk to Jackson Square just to see the CBS setup(nothing special) then walking back bumped into SVP. He was a cool dude, normal just like all of us. We had on LSU gear so we BS'd about Miles. Then on the next block we bump into Michael Ford and Eric Dickerson, weird pairing huh? My guess is Ford is working out with Dickerson, but wow awesome to see one of the G.O.A.T.

Gordon Biersche-Just so happend to know that they were having their Carnival Bock Tapping party going down so we went check that out. It was free beer(Carnival Bock) and free food(jambalya, red beans and rice, chicken tenders, king cake) It was a win-win situation as we got a nice meal out of the day as well. They also validated our parking so another WIN!

If anyone gets a chance Weds-Fri to go to NOLA, go check out SportsNation. You Will definitely have a good time and the ESPN sets are next to it so you never know who you will bump into.

Longhorn, is there much activity going on at night by the sets that you mention here (ESPN, CBS, Sportsnation) or is it all during the day. The only times I will probably be able to head out there will be today or tomorrow after 5ish. I know they have the bands and all that starting up tonight.

yeah...ESPN does SportsCenter from NOLA so the 5 o'clock sportscenter should be rolling...they should have a good bit of activity there. They have I think the Playboy Party going down at JAX Brewery that night so you never know who will be around there...and CBS probably will start to do some things from Jackson Square.

Should be a good time just to check out the atmosphere. VH1 is doing a concert near the Convention Center Friday night.

Really? Haven't been to that part of town in a minute. But I have been seeing some NFL players and such in the CBD.

For any people concerned about safety here is what my friend said from when he was down there last night:

There are more cops than people on bourbon street. And there's at least one cop on every corner in the fq

I don't know why people are afraid for their safety. NOLA is known to be one of the safest cities for tourists in the country

New Orleans is better prepared for big tourist events than any other city because they have numerous big tourist events every year. They know how to handle crime during these events, clean-up etc.

Update after night #1 and pic of lil wayne

Bud light party was AWESOME! Well the performance by wayne was amazing!

General admission was cleared out by the time lil Wayne was on stage which didn't surprise me because it looked crowded and not all that fun. Lets just say if it were me I wouldn't pay for GA tix. I'd get the upgraded ones. VIP was sweet! got to say hi to snoop, jimmy graham, drew brees, zac efron, Justin Durant and a few of his friends

I havent been down there yet but a friend of mine went down to the Quarter after work yesterday and went right into Pat O's got a table. He said that it was very easy getting around not a lot of people at all. Then walked right into ACME, no line, at around 6 oclock. I drove into the city around 530 with very little traffic, no more than a usual Thursday.

Thinking today will be the day the floodgates open and the city explodes.

Not sure how traffic was in the afternoon but it was terrible in the morning. I walked from CBD to bud light hotel and saw a bit of cars
