Probably not the biggest since 1981, but you are right it's our biggest win in several years. It's funny you of all people should mention that, though, because a bowl win over a top 10 team would be SCar's biggest win of all time.

What that indicates to me is that LSU was pushing it more than those teams because it was a big matchup.

Or they did not give a shite about this game so they did not condition hard on their month off. And I would like to see where they ran 100+ plays on other teams because that is rare. Link?

but I can say that LSU most definitely did not "look flat" in the Peach Bowl this year. Their players flew around the field, laid the wood, talked trash, got in fights, and ran themselves until they were literally too exhausted to play any more.

LSU plays like that every game so how do you know when LSU looks flat. I can tell you they were not nearly as emotionally as fired up for this game as others. Plain and simple.

I also don't think LSU's expectations are the same as the rest of the SEC's. LSU, Alabama, and Florida may feel that way, but none of the others do, nor can they.

UGA and your enemies in South Carolina have national championship aspirations every year! UGA almost made it this year. South Carolina tries to peak around the corner, but can't get there. They are not far off though! You sound like a jealous ACC fan that hasn't had a championship contender in a long time!!!!

All I can say is props to them. They played an outstanding game on both sides of the football and deserved the hard-earned win. LSU's lack of offense once again was its own undoing. That's pretty cool for them to put up a tombstone like that in memory of a great football game - for them. Congrats to the orange-clad Tigers. Yoiur uniforms still suck! Geaux Tigers!

Off the top of my head I'd guess that we ran 100 plays vs. NCSU this year, and against Maryland and Auburn last year. Don't have a link for you, I don't know where that stat is kept, it's just something i hear from week to week after games.

Sure they weren't as "emotionally fired up" as they were for, say, the Alabama game. I get that. All I'm saying is that it's disingenuous to claim that they didn't try.

Haha, that's just plain not true, unless by "aspirations" you mean they'd like to win it like everyone else. UGA has kept a coach for 13 years or so who hasn't even played in the title game. SCar had rings made commemorating 11 wins when they didn't so much as win their division. If those programs truly expected to win the title every year, neither of those things would have happened.

I am a Clemson fan, not an LSU fan. I am jealous that Clemson hasn't been a contender in a long time, I'll give you that. I couldn't care less what the rest of the ACC does or does not do.

No doubt, the LSU program of the last 10 years is where Clemson would like to be. We haven't been there in a long time but we are heading in the right direction.

Disagree. In 2007 LSU and UGA had the same record and many UGA fans will feel like they got screwed out of playing for the NC. This year they were 5 yards away. YOU may not think they aren't a championship contender every year, but they certainly are. They just have to play the likes of Florida and USCe every year, and then LSU or Bama in the championship. USCe i'll give you that, but they are not far off from being there.

Agree. Your former pitching coach Rooney does this at UCF, whenever they win a Conference series they put a new headstone out.

Wow, that's a particularly embarassing tradition. When you wins over ranked teams are so sparse you have to celebrate them with special markers, ya that's kinda sad.

If we (LSU) don't like having our school's name on a tombstone on Clemson's campus, don't lose the game. I mean, what's to make fun of, they're not Ole Miss with a fake championship. They won the game, to the victors go the spoils.

Hopefully Miles has a picture in the weight room, although I don't know how much more offseason motivation could have been possible after 1/9. It's pretty simple. We're a top tier program, quit belittling them and take the loss like a man.

They won on that night, we didn't. Hopefully we can get another shot in the near future.

This.

I would love to see some of you say LSU players didn't "try hard" to their face.

Clemson won that game fair and square. If you want to whine and insult, do it to the coach and players. Start by asking Miles why Hill had 0 carries in the 4th quarter.

I would say that some Rantard needs to go after this with a sledge hammer, but like the #2 on the rings from the previous season, it is the truth... a constant reminder of the truth.

Well I guess if they aren't hanging BCS trophies or ACC Championships often, that's what you resort to.
