This was a close game all the way to the end when it ended up being a free throw shooting contest. Even with the loss the Lady Tigers continued to improve. The younger players are still making mistakes but, not nearly as many. We could've easily won this game but, just weren't composed enough at the end. But this team is getting better. Theresa Plaisance continues to play like a 1st team All SEC player, with 19 pts. Adrienne Webb continues her good play with 18 pts. Freshman Danielle Ballard finished with 6 pts and 10 rebounds. Next up for the ladies is an away game at Auburn.

UK's little run in the last min of the 1st half was the difference IMO.

Baker had a nice block and some really nice steals. I'm excited to see her play more. Ballard had a really off game offensively. We just don't have a lot of depth. We should win at Auburn on Thursday and improve to 4-4. Just wondering but why did we offer Youngblood? She's not bad..... but.... she works hard and all but I would have thought we could get someone better.

Mistert, you need to be banned. Nikki is a good coach. We have a top class coming in, we have a 5 star guard in moncrief, we also bring in a four star wing jasmine Rhodes. Jasmine shatter many records and is SEVERELY underrated. She was injured before so she is under the radar. She is a scorer and will contribute immediately. We also bring in a top 5 juco player in Laquinta Jefferson, she is probably going to win juco player of the year. She is almost an exact clone of Lasondra Barret and will have two years to play. The future is very bright. You are in idiot if you think she needs to be fired. We lost 5 seniors and a talented 5 star Krystal forthan transferred. Nikki is dealing with the issues that pokey and van left her.

He'll just go do it in the feedback section of Advocate articles.

Actually, the more I see Youngblood the more I think she will be a good, not great, player for us. At first I was of the opinion that she was just too big to be useful. However, she has lost SOME weight and she actually has nice footwork in the paint for a girl her size..............AND she's a good free throw shooter.......which will come in handy with her in the future. I don't expect her to be a super star but, I wouldn't be surprised if, by her senior year she's a double digit scorer for this program.

Yea, Ballard had an off game. But having been at the game tonight it appeared to me that she was just not used to dealing with the kind of defensive pressure that UK was putting on her. Kenney did a much better job handling the ball against their pressure tonight than Ballard did. But that's okay. Ballard showed more flashes of brilliance tonight. She didn't finish a lot of her plays but, she looked good during many of them.

We should win the game at Auburn on Thursday. Don't be surprised if this team doesn't win at least one of those next three games immediately following that one (TAMU, Georgia, Tennessee). This team looks much better than they did a month ago. I'm anxious to see how they play the rest of the SEC schedule.

Agree. She impressed me today. I thought she wouldn't be able to contribute any with UK up and down style but she hung in there. If she can tone it up she'll give us some post depth.

Ballard had some beautiful moves and made some spectacular passes. She did a good job of setting up her teammates.

Agree. We busted our asses to play them even, then their big kid off the bench scores 5 in the last 30 seconds. Then they hit a 3 out of halftime and all of a sudden we are down 8.

I like her potential but she goes green light too much and forces bad shots. She's gotta calm down

That's part of being a freshman . Its inexperience, she will learn and be a great player for us.

They ARE getting better. I like the hustle of the the last few games. I am very encouraged by the freshman guards. The most frustrating player to me is Lutley. She is a turnover waiting to happen. She is so careless with passes. I would like to see Baker get some more time in the next few days.

Interestingly, since I was sitting right behind the scorers table I could hear Nikki admonishing Lutley about that very point. At one point she took Bianca out and put Coco in there. Coco gave us better defense but, you could tell she was still green when it comes to college competition.

Again, I'm encouraged by what I saw yesterday. And even though she sat out much of the first half, Plaisance was STILL able to get 19 pts against one of the two best defenses in the conference. The future looks bright.

Where is the affable poster "mistert"?

I found this post by him in the LSU Haiku post..

Mistert...where ever you are...do you know something that you would like to share with the rest of us?

Agree that was a good effort and team has improved last few games. UK a legit top team so no big sin losing to them on road. 3-4 in SEC is not what we want, but next few games will be key, if we can even go 3-2 that would be very good. .500+ in SEC would be good for the team, anything worse would be worst year in 14 and even in "a down" year hopefuly we can do this. Both MIss schools are terrible and we certainly should beat Auburn, Ala and Missouri

Well, I dunno.......

With 13 minutes left in the game it was a one point game. Although after that we never were able to get a lead, we kept it a 4-5 point game till the last two minutes.

But again, considering that this team is supposed to have Forthan at power forward and Plaisance at center, they're doing pretty well at this point.

Instead of us going back and forth like the first 19 minutes we were playing catch up the whole 2nd half.
