re: Pearl Harbor

It's cheesy, however, it does have Katie in it, so there's that.

It really is, especially when you consider the first scene of the movie contains lines like this:

Rafe: Crack shootin', Danny!
Danny: Crack shootin', Rafe!
Rafe: Land of the free!
Danny: Home of the brave!

CUT TO:

A cheesy, slow-motion shot of a crop duster flying over the heads of Young Rafe and Young Danny as they watch on from below.

re: Pearl Harbor

The movie was a love story with Pearl Harbor as the subplot.

That's why it sucked.

re: Pearl Harbor

Bombing sequence was great...Other than that, it was a rip-off, cash-in of Titanic, complete with horrible love theme that tries way too hard.

It is a shame that they wasted such a good war sequence on this film.

I will say that my aunt who was sitting next to me during the movie leaned over with tears in her eyes after the bombing of Pearl Harbor was finished and whispered, "They got what they deserved." (Meaning the Japanese bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki). So, that scene was obviously effective.
